BONUS happiness is given by stores, dogs, cats, etc. This is running base numbers without figuring any BONUS happiness. Which will cap you are around 60% CURRENT happiness. Well if you have ANY unsheltered beds you lose 20% off your TARGET happiness. What you see in your workshop menu is CURRENT happiness, then you have an up/down arrow indicating direction. Once you provide food, water, defense, and beds that SHOULD give you a max of 80% TARGET happiness. Well to figure that out first you need to understand the basics of how happiness works.
